Emergency Response
Pop-A-Lock takes great pride in being able to offer its E.D.U. program to Louisville and Lexington. E.D.U. stands for Emergency Door Unlocking, which is a free service when a child or someone is locked in a vehicle and cannot get out by their own means. The special partnership we have with WHAS in Louisville and WKYT in Lexington helps us provide this needed service. Since 1995, Pop-A-Lock has rescued over 6,000 children in the state of Kentucky.
Car door unlocking
Pop-A-Lock is today’s leader in the car door unlocking industry. Since its start, Pop-A-Lock has taken the door apart of each auto make and model in order to develop the most reliable, efficient way to unlock any given vehicle. Our rapid response technicians are required to have 40 hours of performing our techniques in our training yards before they do supervised openings on the public's vehicles.
House / business unlocks
Pop-A-Lock uses a variety of techniques to gain entry into a home or business. The rapid response technicians will use either or both of the following techniques:
- Standard manual lock picking
- A pick gun that allows us to simulate your missing key
If the lock is not able to be picked, the technician will use his or her knowledge of the lock to effectively bypass the lock mechanism by drilling or disabling it.

Broken key removal
By using their knowledge of locks and keys, Pop-A-Lock technicians will disassemble or retrieve your broken key from the locking mechanism and create for you a working key.
Locks installed / repaired
Pop-A-Lock’s knowledgeable locksmiths will install or repair your locking mechanisms. It doesn’t matter if it a simple house lock or a high-security commercial lock.
Transponder key make
Our locksmiths are trained and have the most up-to-date programming tools that allow us not only to generate a key, but also to program your vehicle to accept the new key.
Auto key makes / truck openings
Using the latest technology, Pop-A-Lock will generate a new key for your automobile. Depending on the automobile, it will determine how the key will have to be generated; some vehicles are much easier than others. In any case, a Pop-A-Lock professional locksmith will quickly get you on the road again.
Re-keying of home or business
Pop-A-Lock offers re-keying of existing locks. This allows you to keep the current lock hardware you have yet allows the elimination of previously existing keys, which is generally done when one buys a new home, or to keep previous individuals that had access from continuing to do so. This is accomplished by disassembling the locks and replacing the existing pins with new ones. It is a simple way to provide security when there is a question that all existing keys are not accounted for.
Master keying
This is done when you have multiple locations on the same keyway and you want to have a single key to operate all of them. Each individual location has its own separate functioning key independent of all the others, yet the Master operates all locations. This also can be done with many independent doors that each need their own key, but one person needs access to all doors.
Ignitions replaced / repaired
Our locksmith will either replace or repair your automobile ignition. Same day service is available based on availability of parts.
Mul-T-Lock security systems
Our locksmiths will provide you with the service you need. Pop-A-Lock has a high-security key and lock system, Mul-T-Lock, that allows you the following: one-key system, key control, and high-quality locks. One key can be used in padlocks, file cabinets, deadbolts, passage locks, desk or drawer locks, which eliminates carrying and searching for the right key. Have just one key do it all.
There is no unauthorized key duplication. In order to have a key made or duplicated, the person requesting the key must have an authorized signature card, or no key will be made. This ensures that when a key has been returned, it is the only key that has been made. Mul-T-lock makes pick- and drill-resistant locking mechanisms.
